About the Role
WorkPac are currently looking for a Planning Compliance Officer based in Emerald. Reporting directly to the Senior Compliance Officer, the Planning Compliance Officer will support council's direction by promoting development compliance with an understanding of the town planning scheme and other relevant legislation. You will be responsible for the prompt and accurate investigations of complaints (proactive and reactive) in relation to compliance matters with statutory constraints and provide support in the management of any legal proceedings through the Planning and Environment Court or relevant Tribunal.

Skills and Experience
⢠Experience in a similar role or function within a local government.
⢠Investigate, interpret and prepare evidence on council's behalf.
⢠Deal with conflict
⢠Sound experience in negotiation and exercise sound judgement
⢠Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
⢠Comprehensive report writing and ability to produce logical, plain English, and professional written communication.
⢠Operate local government's computer systems such as ECM, Authority, GIS and the MS Office Suite.

Mandatory:
⢠Experience working in Local Government or a similar role within a planning, building or plumbing unit.
⢠Queensland Driver's license.
⢠Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning, Building, Compliance, or relevant discipline. (Desirable)

The role is a 9 Day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) to the end of September.
