WorkPac Podiatrist -EXCITING REMOTE OPPORTUNITY

WorkPac Health and Social Care are a leading provider of recruitment and workforce solutions in health, social care, and related industries. We are currently seeking an experienced podiatrist for an exciting six-week placement on Thursday Island with the possibility of extension. Accommodation is provided and transportation costs are covered.

Job Role

The role will deliver a culturally safe and responsive Senior Podiatry service with a particular focus on High-Risk Foot, within a multidisciplinary team, using a comprehensive Primary Health Care approach and in accordance with the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service organisational goals.

  • Current unrestricted AHPRA

Experience

Demonstrated application of high-level knowledge, expertise, and skill in generalist podiatry clinical practice across the full continuum of care, with experience treating high risk diabetic feet, including the capacity to work within a Primary Health Care approach within a multi-cultural context, preferably Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to deliver effective and culturally safe and responsive services.

Demonstrated high level communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in teams, provide supervision and education to a podiatrist, Clinical Assistant/co-worker; and to provide advice to colleagues and senior management regarding clinical service standards, service development and business planning processes relevant to the delivery and development of podiatry services.

Demonstrated ability to independently apply evidence-based principles in clinical decision-making to facilitate novel treatment solutions for complex podiatry problems, with limited discipline specific supervision, utilising principles of cultural safety and responsiveness, and with an awareness of issues that impact on the complexity of service delivery in a cross cultural and remote area context.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, contribute to team goals and lead change through service quality improvement activities with relevant evaluation and/or research.

Knowledge of contemporary service delivery within a cross cultural environment with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people, including principles of cultural safety and responsiveness, workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity, anti-discrimination, and collaborative practice.
