About our client

Our client is a leader in the industrial hydraulics industry and is currently seeking a Production Fitter to join their workshop team based in Wacol, Brisbane on a permanent full-time basis, however, will also consider a temp/casual engagement for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 3:30pm and a half day every second Friday.

What you will be doing

The Production Fitter is responsible for all areas relating to overhauling of surface and underground hydraulic components, including cylinders, pumps, valves, motors, final drives, rotary heads and accumulators. This is a technical role involving precision work, an eye for detail, mechanical aptitude and care and diligence. You will be required for safe and responsible performance of all duties with the use of manuals, procedures and instructions.

Skills and knowledge required

• Knowledge in hydraulic functions

• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic circuits and interpret schematic drawings

• Ability to rebuild and modify mechanical components including intricate parts

• Safe operation of tools and machinery

• Understanding of mechanical operations

• Machining skills including operation of lathe and mill plus fabrication skills

• Computer literacy in word, outlook, excel

• Must excel in a fast paced, agile environment where critical thinking, strong technical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required

• Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive and ready to embrace change

• Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team

What you will need

• Trade qualification in any mechanical based field (Fitter, Mechanic, Welding, Fitter & Turner, Electrical etc)

• Current manual drivers licence

• Forklift Licence

• Certificate IV Fluid Power (desirable but not essential)

• Be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical is required including D&A
