About the Position

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer for an initial 12 month role with our client Rio Tinto within their Facilities department. This position will see you working in Perth CBD on a Monday to Friday roster with occasional site visits to suit project requirements. The ideal candidate will hold a construction/mining background and experienced managing projects across all phases.

Duties will include:

• Provide leadership in the management of all aspects related to health, safety, environment & community relating to capital projects

• Manage all elements (cost, quality, schedule) related to capital projects in accordance with the Rio Tinto Framework using standard tools, procedures and specifications.

• Manage Consultants and Engineering Service Providers in the delivery of engineering design studies ensuring project objectives are met.

• Update and communicate to stakeholders the progress of engineering activities according to forecasts.

• Develop and participate in improvement initiatives related to capital project delivery
  

What you will need:

Tertiary Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
C Class Drivers Licence
Demonstrated working experience within a Project Engineer role with a construction background ?
You will have a strong focus towards safety and safe work practices and an understanding of equipment failure investigation using root cause analysis techniques.
