About the Role:
Managing the safe delivery of key nominated contracts and assisting project managers, as part of the owner's team of a major decommissioning and demolition project, utilising technical discipline, stakeholder and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical knowledge and skills to manage industrial engineering projects across a variety of construction contract types.
General knowledge of key elements of standard construction contract commercial conditions.
Strong people management skills, highly developed communication skills, ability to provide clear and frank feedback to achieve success, ability to lead through change, ability to prioritise workflow and work at a tactical level. Strong but pragmatic decision-making ability.
A drive to get things done and see them through to completion.
A flexible approach and the ability to influence and motivate others.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Manage the successful delivery of nominated key contract package of works, adopting key measures of success within the wider project framework:
- Health, safety & environment - Zero harm (Safety)
- Schedule - On time
- Cost - On budget
- Quality - Meeting specification
Interface meeting stakeholder expectations
Support wider project development and delivery team in shaping nominated contract works, including developing scope to meet technical requirements, contracting approach, tender evaluation and administering contract.
Support Project Manager and wider owner's site team during decommissioning, demolition, site remediation
phases. Facilitate contractor works to maintain focus on schedule, managing interface and milestone dates with predecessor, concurrent and successor works.
Work closely with Construction Manager to ensure safe methodologies, delivery and manage execution risks
Implement and maintain governance of the key contract package within the project - including monitoring and reporting, financials transactions, execution of project plans and performance
Ensure contract package works deliver specified results and meet quality expectations
Manage contract package budget in execution phase may range in order of AUD $1 - 10 million
Maintain regular communications with operational stakeholders on matters impacting site access and contract works.
Key Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Project/ Contract Management, Engineering and Construction
Environment.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or related field.
Track record of project management on client side, successfully managing contractors delivering packages in range of AUD $10-100 million
An understanding of decommissioning/demolition/site remediation
