About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join Rio Tinto???s Cape Lambert Sustaining Capital team. The team delivers projects that upgrade and extend the life of conveyors, transfer chutes, structural steelwork, electrical and controls infrastructure, and more. The main focus of this position will be to provide support to the Structural Integrity project, which involves refurbishing structures to increase their longevity. This role is based in Perth, with frequent travel to site for collaboration with the team and to oversee on-site progress.

Role Purpose:

• Work alongside the project delivery team, which includes the Project Lead, Construction Advisors, Construction Contractor, Safety Advisors, Quality Advisors, Structural Engineers, Planners, Cost Analysts and more.

• Review work completed by the Contractor to verify quantity take-off trends.

• Review and compile quality documentation completed by the Construction Contractor and the Quality Advisors.

• Support the project team in managing interactions with site stakeholders, such as shut planning and other construction work groups.

• Engagement with the team???s safety tools to support safe delivery of the work.

• Support the Project Lead with scope control, cost estimating, scheduling and cashflow forecasting.

• Engage with the Construction Advisors and Contractor to review construction methods and equipment.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven track record in structural and mechanical or civil engineering

• 3+ years of project engineering experience in brownfields mining

• Demonstrated expertise in Project Delivery within the Pilbara region

• Dedicated to ensuring the safety of both yourself and your team

• Established safety leadership abilities within the mining or related field

• Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills

• C Class Drivers Licence
