About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Lead to deliver building projects across Rio Tintoâs Pilbara operations. As a member of the Sustaining Capital Building and Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for the management of multi-disciplinary projects through the full lifecycle. The successful candidate will be based in Perth, with ad-hoc travel to site.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage the delivery of building, village and NPI projects across Rio Tintoâs Pilbara operations e.g. camps, offices and medical centres.

  • Management of projects through lifecycle (pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, execution, commissioning, handover, closeout).

  • Management of all project elements (cost, quality, schedule, site delivery & safety).

  • Quality Management, MDR Development, Contractor Management, Cost Control.

  • Prepare and review engineering specifications, scopes, drawings and schedules.

  • Review technical queries, prepare ITPâs and ITRâs.

  • Management of construction work on site to complete multiple concurrent works in brownfield locations

  • Contract management, variations, and claims.

  • Develop and gain agreement from key stakeholders on co-commitments for project delivery.

  • Develop relationships, engage, and liaise with all stakeholders providing progress updates of engineering and construction activities in accordance with the project schedule.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Committed to deliver projects with zero harm.

  • Bachelor of Engineering or similar construction-based discipline or Trade Certificate + Project Management Training

  • Experience with project management in both studies and construction.

  • Technical experience in multi-disciplinary projects for built form construction, facilities and infrastructure projects.

  • Good understanding of Capital Approval process.

  • Core project delivery skills (safety, cost, schedule, quality) developing cost estimates, managing budgets, and developing and managing schedules.

  • Experience developing and managing contracts, assessing claims and dispute resolution.

  • C Class Drivers Licence
