About the Role

WorkPac are currently looking for an experienced Water Program Specialist to join our client Rio Tinto in their Sustaining Capital team for a 6 month duration located in their Perth office. This role supports efficient execution of water management projects within Sustaining Capital. This includes the studies, strategy development, stakeholder engagement and capital planning processes. The role interacts with various departments across the business to ensure timely and governed delivery of dewatering projects within the capital water management program framework.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure service provided by the program is aligned with operational requirements.

  • Assists and drives delivery model improvements within Sustaining Capital for improved business outcomes.

  • Strategically support the wider business for timely and governed delivery of capital water management projects.

  • Participate and support in business case development and business analytics.

  • Drive front end project work and portfolio development to ensure long term business needs are met.

  • Provide guidance and input through the lifecycle of the project from Order of Magnitude through to operational handover.

  • Continuously drives business objectives (capital efficiency, stakeholder management) while enacting Rio Tinto values of care, curiosity, and courage.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to interact with a range of disciplined specialists, managers and construction personnel (Blue- and White-Collar workers).

  • Strategic thinking and ability to find efficiencies within existing operations.

  • Ability to prepare and present management level guidance notes.

  • Knowledge of Mining and Industry Standards and Guidelines.

  • Ability to work successfully both as part of a team and independently.

  • Experience with water management systems would be beneficial.
