About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking a Project Planner to join our client Rio Tinto, based in Perth withad-hoc site travel to the Pilbara. This role is on a Monday to Friday roster, for a 12 month duration with the opportunity for extension.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Analysing each study phase and resource load the schedule to verify budgets and resource planning

  • Tracking project costs/labour hours and ensuring implementation stays within predicted estimates

  • Validate the study timeline and making sure teams adhere to delivery dates

  • Review and report ongoing human and capital resources of a study to ensure timely delivery

  • Identifying and evaluating schedule risks that can derail study delivery and providing solutions to prevent them

  • Providing reports on deviations to the original study plan that can lead to study delays and budget overruns

  • Preparing and presenting internal and external study reports for stakeholders

  • Providing comprehensive study/project data to teams to help them work more effectively

  • Identifying and communicating changes in the study plan to stakeholders

  • Collaborating with teams and other stakeholders on short and long-term plans for resource allocation and work scheduling

  • Assisting the delivery lead to improve performance and efficiency

  • Documenting and maintaining records on study scheduling processes

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Mining background or experience in large scale studies within a matrix organisation

  • Proficient in Primavera (P6), MS Project software packages

  • Experience with integrated scheduling

  • Experience working within a matrix organisation for resources

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple schedules/studies

  • Good communication skills at all levels of business.

  • Problem solving and negotiation skills

  • Concise and succinct reporting skills

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
