Project Engineer - Mechanical

We are looking for a Project Engineer â Mechanical to join the team at Queensland Alumina Plant.

The role:

Reporting directly to the Odour Program Lead, you will be responsible for project engineering related activities as part of the Odour program.

You will be working with the Odour Program Lead to assist with project engineering activities from feasibility to close-out. You will be an accomplished safety leader, excellent communicator and have a strong customer focus, with experience in completing project engineering activities during the lifecycle of a project. Experience in commissioning in a mining or refinery environment is highly desirable.

The position is for a Gladstone based resource.

Key Responsibilities:

Experience in project engineering brownfield projects in the electrical and instrumentation area from concept to close-out;

Set and maintain project budgets and schedules to meet internal and external commitments;

Prepare, review and issue tender documentation;

Management equipment vendors

Construction experience of brownfield project desirable

Create and maintain project documentation in the different phases to meet QAL requirements;

Engage and manage engineering service providers to ensure project objectives are met;

Source, procure and engage suppliers and specialized subcontractors;

Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders;

Electrical Engineering / Trade qualification or, relevant technical background and experience;

A proven track record of site management with safety, customer service and financial responsibilities;

Strong safety focus to be implemented from early design phases to execution and close-out;

Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements;

Leadership and people management skills;

Effective written and communications skills.

Roster:

a) Maximum of 9 hours per day;

b) Maximum of 45 hours per week;

c) 7.00am to 4.30pm - Unpaid lunch break.
