Senior Project Officer - A06

About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an A06 Senior Project Officer to support our client, who are a major Queensland Government Department. In the role you will provide administrative support focusing on policy reviews and update program specific legislative training material. This is a three-month contract based out of Brisbane CBD.

Accountabilities & Duties

  • Contribute to the review and development of documents associated with the training module for officers.

  • Be able to quickly attain a sound working knowledge of relevant legislation.

  • Research and analyse the project focus areas to support the development of project plans and proposals to identify opportunities, emerging issues and possible solutions.

  • Provide staff and decision-makers with advice on moderately complex policy matters and refer requests for complex policy advice to more senior policy officers along your recommendations and research undertaken into the issue.

  • Clarify project requirements, factors driving and impacting on the project with senior management and project sponsors or stakeholders.

  • Draft clear, concise, high-quality documents such as training material, submissions, proposals, reports, information sheets) designed to support clear, consistent communication about policy matters tailored to each audience and professional profile of the department.

  • Support policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

  • Manage routine administrative issues, escalating matters requiring manager attention in a timely manner and implementing their decisions.

  • Support the development, distribution and management of documentation and communication materials, including the use of systems eDocs and SharePoint.

  • Adaptable to a constantly changing work environment to support innovation and efficient delivery

About You

  • Previous experience as a Senior Project Officer - Ideally, within the Public Sector.

  • Knowledge of project management practices including scheduling and monitoring.

  • Strong understanding of the critical differences between legislation, strategy, policy, guidelines and procedures.

  • Adaptable to a constantly changing work environment to support innovation and efficient delivery.

  • Strong research, analysis and reporting skills

  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

  • An ability to provide effective communication and liaison services.

  • Australian Citizen.

  • Must be fully vaccinated.
