About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our client Rio Tinto for a 6 month duration with the possibility of extension. This role will be located in Rio Tinto's Perth office on a Monday to Friday roster.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing structural improvement investigations and projects

• Prioritising defects and repairs and engaging specialist consultants when required

• Conducting independent assessments of the structural adequacy of assets

• Reviewing remedial scopes of works

• Providing technical support to site teams

• Completing and reviewing structural designs

Skills and Experience

• A Bachelor of Civil and/or Structural Engineering

• A Current Manual C Class Drivers Licence

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate technical issues and investigation findings to others

• Exposure to SAP would be positive

• Experience with the design of iron ore materials handling and processing plants including crushing, screening and wet processing facilities, conveyors, bins, chutes and lifting

• Experience with fixed plant structural maintenance programs
