My client is a well-known not-for-profit that is leading the way in youth homelessness services. They provide client centred support programs for young people between 16-25 years, including young parents, in the Grater Western Sydney region. The programs include living skills, brokerage, mentoring, and outreach support to young people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Team Leader to support and lead a small, fantastic team of 7 (1 x intake, 1 x compliance, 2 x program leads & 3 x Caseworkers) across two sites, Doonside and Castle Hill. In this role you will be supporting your team to deliver homelessness support services that are of the highest quality, from a client centered perspective. Your exceptional communication and relationship building skills will be welcomed as you continue to develop and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders, who are essential to this organization and their clients. Some of the stakeholders include schools and refuges, where this organisation facilitates group work programs. You will have the opportunity to be directly engaged in the group work as a facilitator from time to time. You will also work alongside the EO, helping with operational and strategic planning for the team the future growth of the organization.

What you need to be successful:

  • Minimum 2 yearsâ experience in managing staff/teams, with a strong ability to build effective engaged teams with a positive culture

  • Experience or knowledge in Child Protection & working with families

  • Experience delivering case management with young people from complex backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience working from a trauma informed approach, supporting staff and volunteers to do the same.

  • Knowledge in child & youth development, homelessness, safety planning and youth mental health

  • Experience in managing crisis situations with a risk-adverse approach

  • Experience working in the specialist homelessness services sector, will be highly regarded

Checks & Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare or related areas

  • Current Working with Children Check

  • National Police Clearance

  • NSW Driverâs License

  • Access to a comprehensive insured vehicle
