About the client

Our client provides essential equipment, technologies and services to the construction, mining, energy, government, waste and quarry industries.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced trade assistant to service and repair equipment in line with the manufacturers and company standards and requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

Assist tradesman with carrying out supervised repairs and servicing forklift trucks, plant equipment and other equipment

General cleaning duties

Performing deliveries and pick ups as required

• Service and repair equipment in line with the manufacturers and company standards and requirements, report any deficiencies or faults.

• Ensure that equipment including tools and spare parts are secure at all times.

• Operate tools, plant and equipment and use tools in a tradesman-like manner and report faulty equipment or tools to supervisors

• Comply with industrial relations guidelines and agreements

• Comply with and cooperate in the practical application of quality assurance standards

• Manage jobs and tasks allocated to ensure their completion within standard times and costs, and to the customers satisfaction

• Manage work practices to comply with environmental standards and practices.

• Attend and participate in company provided training and information/service meetings.

• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system relative to the function.

Skills and experience

Previous trade assistant experience preferred

Driver licence

Forklift ticket (preferred)

Understand trade servicing and repair standards and procedures

Ability to read and interpret service and parts manuals
