About the Company

Our client is a specialist hire company providing welders, weld automation products and generators to clients. They are the Australian market leader for welding technology rentals and a national provider of power generation products including diesel generators, load banks, electrical distribution and ancillary services and products.

They are currently seeking skilled Trade Assistant to join their growing team at the Wacol workshop.

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant you will be required to work Monday to Thursday (6:30am - 4pm) and Friday (6:30am-1:30pm) with the occasional Saturday. You will be required to work in the workshop assisting trades and the workshop coordinator to refurbish, clean and repair welding and power generation equipment, including engine overhaul work. Your main responsibilities and duties will include;

• Inspect, clean and operationally test welding equipment.

• Provide assistance to electrical trades to disassemble and reassemble equipment

• Dismantle, reassemble, clean, sand and paint welders and generators

• Service, overhaul and repair small diesel engines

• Pack and wrap shipments

• Operate forklift

• Perform return from hire inspections and report on damage and missing equipment

• Assist in stocktaking

• Deliveries and pickups

Requirements

• High Risk Forklift Licence

• Drivers Licence

• Be a team player, committed to work in a team-based environment

• Diesel engine service knowledge
