About the Role

This role is 5 month contract with possible ongoing opportunity exists for an experienced Trades Assistant at Rio Tinto's 7 mile mine site. This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to safety to be part of a collaborative team.

Duties

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to safety to be part of a collaborative team. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be;

• Supporting Machine shop team in wheel set manufacturing

• Trained in operating the bearings on and off stations, operation of Portals, REMAN area fundamentals, Component (BEARINGS AND CONSUMABLES) delivery and collection, loading wheelsets, SAP paperwork completion.

• General hand / TA work supporting maintenance crews or if Trade based executing maintenance works

• Shutdown works when planned maintenance is being executed

• Misc tasks associated with cleaning / Housekeeping

• Assisting Tradesman in daily tasks

• Required to perform manual tasks in hot weather extremes

Requirements

• Forklift (LF) High Risk Licence (mandatory)

• Dogman (DG) High Risk License (preferred)

• HR Drivers License (preferred)

• Manual C Class Australian issued Drivers Licence (minimum)

• Ability to complete a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol screening
