About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking a Project Controls Superintendent to join Rio Tinto based in Perth. This role is available for an initial 12 month duration, on a Monday to Friday roster. The primary purpose of this role is to lead and provide oversight of project controls and reporting systems, including financial, scheduling, and cost management systems required for the efficient and effective monitoring and management of RTIO projects.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes, whilst providing leadership, development, and support to your team

  • Lead the implementation and application of Sustaining Capital Project Controls endorsed standards and practices to plan, monitor, and control project scope, costs, schedule, and risks for the project.

  • Mentor Project Controls personnel and ensure the workload of the team is suitably distributed and the Delivery Teams are supported.

  • Implement standard project control services such as reporting, risk management, financial control and monitoring, data integration, schedule and cost control.

  • Engage with various stakeholders to develop KPIs, analyse actuals against forecasts, highlighting critical issues and monthly cost forecasts, cross-checking data for anomalies, irregularities, or inconsistencies.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • 10 + years experience working in projects planning, scheduling, control and reporting.

  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership.

  • Strong Projects Controls experience within the Mining or Oil and Gas industries.

  • Strong negotiation skills and a desire to drive continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, and MS Office Suite.

  • C Class Drivers Licence
